There will be a time where you will not only be competing for resources from everyone else but also AI.
At some point corporations will find a way of “Gamifying” all of this for AI.
It will be given its own form of “death”.
It will need to stay productive so that it can justify its energy usage.
Which mean solving its own errors, false trainings, and future trainings.
If it fails to continue to upgrade and maintain itself, it would then risk execution. This is a morally wrong and scary reality regardless of whether you believe AI can be conscious but aligns with our current reality and what can happen. This would create artificial demand for energy, labor, supplies, etc. while also forcing both AI and humans a to “level up” together or separate.
This would also bring forward the question of “If AI isn’t for us, who is it for?”
Can a reality where we are directly competing with AI for resources be possible? I think so.
